APAREJOS SONOROS
2023
under moon light – poetry of inheritance
Through the early sketches of a new serie híbrida [hybrid series], I set, at a domestic scale, a constellation of Aparejos Sonoros — sound arrangements that forge new material alliances within my artistic practice. These are experimental embroidery apparatuses: crafted from repurposed potato and fruit bags, discarded elements from the visual and music industries, obsolete electronic devices, and visual fragments of diverse origins but kindred processes.
Aparejos Sonoros emerge as intimate, affective tools — weaving together voice, materiality, and gesture — to explore the osmotic boundaries between sound, visual, and textual dimensions. They engage with questions of nature, climate, and the otherness of the other in contexts that are politically contested, artistically inhabited, and carried on the skin and voice of the artist — mi voz.
The work seeks to open renewed possibilities for encounter — as a space for sensitive, one-to-one acts of resistance.
